Organizing by year, campaign, shoot, location, or team is useful because it gives the archive a stable operational structure. But a marketer may later search by mood, product, person, season, activity, audience, composition, or a campaign idea that did not exist when the photo was filed.
The practical goal is not perfect categorization. It is reliable retrieval. That means keeping source structure understandable, preserving important rights and ownership metadata, and making visual content searchable beyond exact file names.
